Count Down to Zero Hour
Existential Dread Befalls Me…
Someone asked me: “What do you think will happen in the future?”
Not knowing what to say, I told him such. I didn’t know. Someone had to, though.
It was less than a half hour until midnight.
I was desperate. The clock was ticking down. What did the future hold? What I don’t know can hurt me. Would zombies rise and terrorize humanity?
Aliens?
Machines?
Or… would we tear each other apart?
What about government policing?
And then my spirits lifted…
Surely if someone knew the future, it was the great fortune telling automaton.
In my mouthing dread, my vulnerability, this Deus Ex Machina spoke to me it’s wisdom.
I learned a valuable truth: life is for living. I do not need to know the path to walk it. For those who know the path may never walk it.

‘And remember, he who does not know one thing, knows another “
Exactly!
Enter every conversation with the attitude that you may impart or learn a lesson or two, and you won’t go far wrong. Every one of them.
Well put. Life can pass you by while you are trying to figure out the future. Which as you know is impossible. If it seems uncertain, our default setting to that is one of fear, and anxiety. We just do not like change. But life is indeed for living. I wish you well my friend. Have a blinding weekend.
